Aos gritos, o rei mandou chamar os encantadores, os astrólogos e os adivinhos e disse a esses sábios da Babilônia: “Aquele que ler essa inscrição e interpretá-la, revelando-me o seu significado, vestirá um manto vermelho, terá uma corrente de ouro no pescoço e será o terceiro em importância no governo do reino”.

E ordenou o rei em alta voz, que se introduzissem os encantadores, os caldeus e os adivinhadores; e falou o rei, e disse aos sábios de Babilônia: Qualquer que ler esta escritura, e me declarar a sua interpretação, será vestido de púrpura, e trará uma cadeia de ouro ao pescoço, e no reino será o terceiro governante.

The king called loudly to bring in the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers. The king declared to the wise men of Babylon, "Whoever reads this writing, and shows me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom."

The king spoke, saying to the wise men of Babylon, "Whoever reads this writing, and tells me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck; and he shall be the third ruler in the kingdom."
