“Depois que o SENHOR, o seu Deus, os tiver expulsado da presença de você, não diga: ‘O SENHOR me trouxe aqui para tomar posse desta terra por causa da minha justiça’. Não! É devido à impiedade destas nações que o SENHOR vai expulsá-las da presença de você.

Depois que o Senhor teu Deus os tiver lançado fora de diante de ti, não digas no teu coração: por causa da minha justiça é que o Senhor me introduziu nesta terra para a possuir. Porque pela iniqüidade destas nações é que o Senhor as lança fora de diante de ti.

"Do not say in your heart, after the LORD your God has thrust them out before you, 'It is because of my righteousness that the LORD has brought me in to possess this land,' whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is driving them out before you.
