Contudo, antes de Jeremias se virar para partir,a Nebuzaradã acrescentou: “Volte a Gedalias, filho de Aicam, neto de Safã, a quem o rei da Babilônia nomeou governador sobre as cidades de Judá, e viva com ele entre o povo, ou vá para qualquer outro lugar que desejar”.Então o comandante lhe deu provisões e um presente, e o deixou partir.

Se assim quiseres, volta a Gedalias, filho de Aicão filho de Safã e a quem o rei de Babilônia constituiu governador das cidades de Judá, e habita com ele no meio do povo; ou vai para qualquer outra parte que te aprouver ir. E deu-lhe o capitão da guarda sustento para o caminho, e um presente, e o deixou ir.

If you remain, then return to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed governor of the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people. Or go wherever you think it right to go." So the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a present, and let him go.
