The Preeminence of Christ

1He is the image of 2the invisible God, 3the firstborn of all creation.
For bya him all things were created, 4in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether 5thrones or 6dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created 7through him and for him.
And 8he is before all things, and in him all things 9hold together.
And 10he is the head of the body, the church. He is 11the beginning, 12the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
For 13in him all the 14fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
and 15through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, 16making peace 17by the blood of his cross.
18And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, 19doing evil deeds,
he has now reconciled 20in his body of flesh by his death, 21in order to present you holy and blameless and 22above reproach before him,
23if indeed you continue in the faith, 24stable and steadfast, not shifting from 25the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed 26in all creationb under heaven, 27and of which I, Paul, became a minister.
