21We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantlya2mentioning you in our prayers,
3
remembering before 3our God and Father 4your work of faith and labor of 5love and 6steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4
For we know, 7brothersb loved by God, 8that he has chosen you,
5
because 9our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and 10in the Holy Spirit and with full 11conviction. You know 12what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.
6
And 13you became imitators of us 14and of the Lord, for 15you received the word in much affliction, 16with the 17joy of the Holy Spirit,
7
so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.
8
For not only has the word of the Lord 18sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth 19everywhere, so that we need not say anything.
9
For they themselves report concerning us the kind of 20reception we had among you, and how 21you turned to God 22from idols to serve the living and 23true God,
10
and 24to wait for his Son 25from heaven, 26whom he raised from the dead, Jesus 27who delivers us from 28the wrath to come.
