Spiritual Blessings in Christ

5Blessed be 6the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing 7in the heavenly places,
8even as he 9chose us in him 10before the foundation of the world, that we should be 11holy and blameless before him. In love
12he predestined usb for 13adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, 14according to the purpose of his will,
15to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in 16the Beloved.
17In him we have 18redemption 19through his blood, 20the forgiveness of our trespasses, 21according to the riches of his grace,
which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight
22making knownc to us the mystery of his will, 23according to his purpose, which he 24set forth in Christ
as a plan for 25the fullness of time, 26to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
In him we have obtained 27an inheritance, 28having been predestined 29according to the purpose of him who works all things according to 30the counsel of his will,
so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be 31to the praise of his glory.
In him you also, when you heard 32the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, 33were sealed with the 34promised Holy Spirit,
who is 35the guaranteed of our 36inheritance until 37we acquire 38possession of it,e39to the praise of his glory.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

For this reason, 40because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your lovef toward all the saints,
I 41do not cease to give thanks for you, 42remembering you in my prayers,
that 43the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, 44may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,
45having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is 46the hope to which he has called you, what are 47the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, 48according to the working of 49his great might
that he worked in Christ 50when he raised him from the dead and 51seated him at his right hand 52in the heavenly places,
53far above 54all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above 55every name that is named, not only in 56this age but also in the one to come.
And 57he put all things under his feet and gave him as 58head over all things to the church,
59which is his body, 60the fullness of him 61who fills 62all in all.
