Quando todos os israelitas souberam que Jeroboão tinha voltado, mandaram chamá-lo para a reunião da comunidade e o fizeram rei sobre todo o Israel. Somente a tribo de Judá permaneceu leal à dinastia de Davi.

Sucedeu então que, ouvindo todo o Israel que Jeroboão tinha voltado, mandaram chamá-lo para a congregação, e o fizeram rei sobre todo o Israel; e não houve ninguém que seguisse a casa de Davi, senão somente a tribo de Judá.

And when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. There was none that followed the house of David but 1the tribe of Judah only.
