Então disse Judá a Tamar sua nora: Conserva-te viúva em casa de teu pai, até que Selá, meu filho, venha a ser homem; porquanto disse ele: Para que porventura não morra também este, como seus irmãos. Assim se foi Tamar e morou em casa de seu pai.

Then Judah said to Tamar his daughter-in-law, "Remain a widow in your father's house, till Shelah my son grows up"--for he feared that he would die, like his brothers. So Tamar went and remained in her father's house.
