On that day men were appointed over the storerooms, the contributions, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the Law for the priests and for the Levites according to the fields of the towns, for Judah rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who ministered.

Naquela ocasião, foram designados alguns encarregados dos depósitos onde se recebiam as contribuições gerais, os primeiros frutos e os dízimos. Das lavouras que havia em torno das cidades eles deveriam trazer para os depósitos as porções exigidas pela Lei para os sacerdotes e para os levitas. E, de fato, o povo de Judá estava satisfeito com os sacerdotes e os levitas que ministravam no templo.
