The Song of 1Songs, which is Solomon's.

The Bride Confesses Her Love

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your 2love is better than wine;
your 3anointing oils are fragrant; your 4name is oil poured out; therefore virgins love you.
5Draw me after you; 6let us run. 7The king has brought me into his chambers.We will 8exult and rejoice in you; we will extol 9your love more than wine; rightly do they love you.
I am very dark, but 10lovely, O 11daughters of Jerusalem, like 12the tents of 13Kedar, like the curtains of Solomon.
Do not gaze at me because I am dark, because the sun has looked upon me. My 14mother's sons were angry with me; they made me 15keeper of 16the vineyards, but 17my own vineyard I have not kept!
Tell me, you 18whom my soul loves, where you 19pasture your flock, where you make it 20lie down at noon; for why should I be like one who veils herself beside the flocks of your 21companions?

Solomon and His Bride Delight in Each Other

If you do not know, O 22most beautiful among women, follow in the tracks of the flock, and pasture your young goats beside the shepherds' tents.
I compare you, 23my love, to 24a mare among Pharaoh's chariots.
25Your cheeks are lovely with ornaments, your neck with strings of jewels.
We will make for youa ornaments of gold, studded with silver.
While 26the king was on his couch, my 27nard gave forth its fragrance.
My beloved is to me a sachet of 28myrrh that lies between my breasts.
My beloved is to me a cluster of 29henna blossoms in the vineyards of 30Engedi.
31Behold, 32you are beautiful, 33my love; behold, you are beautiful; your 34eyes are doves.
Behold, you are beautiful, 35my beloved, truly 36delightful. Our couch is green;
the beams of our house are 37cedar; our rafters are 38pine.
